Teatr Brama Against Ageism – the international project “Age Against The Machine” at the Bramat Festival

Event-description-sheet_cerv TeatrBrama GoleniowPobierz

This year’s edition of the Bramat Festival will be unique, as we will address the socially important issue of ageism – discrimination based on age. Teatr Brama will invite artists from Serbia, Denmark, Portugal, and Italy to Goleniów to collectively use art and theatre to change the way we think about aging and the role of older people in society.

During Bramat, the audience will be able to see intergenerational performances tackling topics such as: ageism, body image, identity, the cult of youth, the participation of older people in political life, stereotypes and sexism in culture and the media, and the mental health of seniors. Artists will gather in Goleniów to share experiences, engage in intergenerational dialogue, and create a space of solidarity, openness, and active participation in culture.

Age Against The Machine is an initiative that, in five partner cities across Europe, uses art as a tool for social change. Performances, festivals, and cultural events within the project are not only forms of artistic expression – they become platforms that amplify the voices of seniors and highlight their importance in the life of local communities.
